Irving D. Studley

HOLLISTON, MA - Irving D. Studley, 90, of Dorset Road and formerly of Albion died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Framingham Union Hospital, Framingham, MA surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Eleanor M. (Peltier) Studley.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, a son of the late James and Charlotte (Rogers) Studley, he had lived in the Albion section of Lincoln before moving to South Yarmouth, MA for 20 years. He later lived in Twentynine Palms, CA before moving to Holliston 2 years ago.
Mr. Studley was a printer in the Berkshires before becoming the owner of the Studley Insurance Agency in Albion for many years before retiring in 1981. Mr. Studley was a lieutenant on the Albion Fire Department for many years.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II serving in the South Pacific Area and participated in action at Bougainville in November and December 1943.
He is survived by his six children, Beverly Collard of Twentynine Palms, CA, Joan Rainville of Lincoln, Barbara Studley of Meredith, NH, Janet O'Leary of Holliston, MA, Kenneth Studley of West Dennis, MA and Lynne Barry of Cumberland; three sisters, Mildred Putnam, Marjorie Putnam and Helen Langlois, all of Pittsfield, MA; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Walter Studley, Edward Studley and Charlotte Putnam.
His funeral will be held MONDAY, AUGUST 1 at 8:30 A.M. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial, with military honors, will be MONDAY at 2 P.M. in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
