CUMBERLAND- Guerin, Eleanor M. (Crook), 84, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 3, 2011. She was the wife of the late E. Normand Guerin.
Born in Slatersville, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Mary Etta (Meade) Crook. Mrs. Guerin had lived in Cumberland since 1952.
She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and RI College of Education. She also attended the URI Graduate School of Library Science. Mrs. Guerin was a Librarian in the Cumberland Schools for many years, retiring in 1990. A communicant of Saint Joan of Arc Church, she had been a member of the Parish Council and was a teacher of CCD for many years.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Thomas and her husband Randall of New York, Suzanne Medeiros and her late husband George of South Dennis, MA and Ellie Miosky and her husband Mark of Cumberland; three sons, Edward Guerin and his wife Karen of Lincoln, William Guerin and his wife Julie of Cumberland and Thomas and his wife Linda also of Cumberland; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Sr. Eleanora Crook R.S.M. of Cumberland and a brother James H. Crook of Norwood, MA. She was also the sister of the late John F. and Elizabeth F. Crook.
The funeral will be held Monday, August, 8, 2011 at 9 AM from the O'NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours, Sunday 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to, Mt. St. Rita Health Center, 15 Sumner Brown Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864, would be appreciated. For online condolences
