JOHNSTON- Doris E. (Marchand) Langlais, 92, of Johnston, RI formerly of Bellingham, MA passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Pawtucket Health Center. She is survived by her son, Normand Langlais, of East Greenwich, RI; her grandson, Kevin Langlais, and his wife Kerri, and great-granddaughter, Charlotte, of Brooklyn, NY; and granddaughter, Darcy Langlais Hardy, and her husband, John, of Seattle, WA.
Born in Newport, RI on January 25, 1919, she was the child of the late Arthur and Edwina (Lajoie) Marchand. She was the sister of Roland L. Marchand of Las Vegas, NV, and sister of the late Gerald Marchand, Germaine Dumas, and Claire Desjardins. She worked as a supervisor at Finkelstein & Son formerly located in Woonsocket.
Doris and her late husband Normand built their home in Bellingham, MA where they raised their son and resided for 48 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, loved to sew, enjoyed family outings, and dedicated member of the former Assumption Parish and an avid Red Sox fan.
Funeral will be held on Friday, August 12th at 9:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
