BELLINGHAM- Eleanor L. (Shurick) Ranieri, 81, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Antoine Residence with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Donald J. Ranieri.
Born in Millville, MA on July 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Esther E. (Mountain) Shurick. She was the loving mother of Cheryl A. Boucher and her husband Gary, former State Respresentative Daniel J. Ranieri and his wife Suzanne, Bellingham Fire Chief Richard F. Ranieri and his wife Linda all of Bellingham, Robert A. Ranieri and his wife Jo-Ann of Cumberland, RI, Thomas M. Ranieri and his wife Gail of Woonsocket, Bellingham Police Lieutenant Kevin W. Ranieri and his wife Mary Beth of Bellingham. She also leaves her cherished 16 grandchildren, Jason Ranieri; Jennifer Crandall and her husband Kyle; Robert Ranieri Jr. and his wife Allison; Christina Ranieri; Melissa Voss and her husband Joseph; Heather Picard and her husband Jason; Jessica, Kelly, Richard Jr., Matthew, Jillian, Sarah, Kaitlyn Ranieri; Kyle, Tyler and Dylan Boucher; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Kathleen Craven of Bellingham and the late Frances Godin and Esther Shurick.
A resident of Bellingham since 1955, formerly of Millville, MA and a graduate of Blackstone High School Class of 1947. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. Mr. & Mrs. Ranieri loved Cape Cod, traveling with the Bellingham Seniors, and visiting casinos in Connecticut. She was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Assumption Church and a communicant of St. Blaise Church. Mr. & Mrs. Ranieri met at the former Blackstone Hotel and were married on July 1, 1950. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and she will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 16, at 9:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Monday, August 15, from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Vincent de Paul of St. Blaise Church or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
