Edward A. Grenier

WOONSOCKET- Edward A. Grenier, 84, of Pond St., died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Rita L. (Beauregard) Grenier.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William O. Grenier and Florence (Messier) Grenier-Bryant.
He was the co-owner and operator of the former Grenier Printing, Inc., in Woonsocket from 1928 until his retirement in 1991. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the Leclair, Kozlik, Logan, Bassett Post # 6342 VFW of North Smithfield. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church in Tiverton. He lived in Tiverton for eleven years and had been going to a summer home there since 1958. He also wintered in Florida since 1995.
He is survived by his three stepsons, James Picard, Jr. and John Picard, both of Tiverton and Joseph Picard and his wife Diane of Blackstone, MA, five stepdaughters, Mary Leclerc and her husband Michael of Woonsocket, Ann Picard of Sarasota, FL, Linda Fontaine and her husband Rene of Cumberland, Patricia St. Pierre and her husband Michael of Coventry, and Leah Agabiti and her husband Daniel of Cumberland, twenty-two grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Albert and William Grenier and Jeannette Forcier and Florence Mathewson.
His funeral will be held Monday, August 22, 2011 at 8:45AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Sunday from 5 - 8PM.
