WOONSOCKET - Cora M. (Fournier) Briere 82, of Grand View Ave. died Saturday at Home and Hospice Care of RI. She was the wife of the late Roger Briere. Mrs. Briere was born in Lincoln, a daughter of the late Camille and Alice (Dubois) Fournier. She was a textile worker for several area textile mills, including the Rochambeau Worsted, where she was employed as a winder for six years before retiring in 1993.
She is survived by a sister Eva Fournier of Woonsocket, and was pre-deceased by her siblings, Norbert, Roger, Therese, and Julie Fournier, Marie Briere, and Aldia Bourgeois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and five step-children, Robert Briere of Woonsocket, Roger Briere of Pascoag, Jeannine Briere of N. Providence, Simonne Faneuf of Blackstone, and Rita Wilson of Douglas, MA.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. James Cemetery in Manville. In lieu of flowers donations to Home and Hospice Care of RI 41085 North Main St. Providence, RI 02904-9826 in her memory would be appreciated.
