NORTH SMITHFIELD & WEEKAPAUG- Thomas C. Mee, Jr., 85, of North Smithfield and Weekapaug, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Thomas C. Mee, Sr. and Isabel (Donahoe) Mee.
Mr. Mee was a plant supervisor at the former Mantrose Haeuser Company for 34 years, retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the 5th Division in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Woonsocket and member of the Westerly Yacht Club, the Weekapaug Conservation Association and the American Legion Post #85, Woonsocket.
Mr. Mee is survived by his dear friend Margaret A. Haley of Warwick. He was predeceased by his sister, Isabel "Bobs" Mee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are respectfully omitted and arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Rhode Island Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1210 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920.
