BURRILLVILLE - Wilfred P. Normandin, 84, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at his home in Pascoag. He was the husband of Nancy-Hope (Round) Normandin whom he was married to for 44 years.
Born in Pascoag, he was the son the late Wilfred A. and Eva (Jacques) Normandin.
Wilfred worked as an electrician. He was a member of Local 99 and retired from C & K Electric of Providence in 1990. He was a Little League Coach for many years. He was a founding member of the Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club and served as secretary and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. Wilfred enjoyed fishing, especially at his camp in Maine, golfing and raising animals. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Wilfred is survived by one son, Stephen Normandin of Charlestown, two daughters, Lynne Bard also of Charlestown and Karen Ingalls of Westerly and five grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Eleanor Holmes and Joan Evanoff.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at 9 am from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave. Pascoag. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in is name may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI 02904-9826 or Pascoag Fire & Rescue, 141 Howard Ave. Pascoag, RI 02859.
