PROVIDENCE- Michael S. Scotto, 80, of Smith Street, Providence, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Constance M. (Kusnarowis) Scotto for fifty five years. A son of the late Vincenzo and Theresa (Cesario) Scotto, he was a lifelong North Smithfield resident prior to moving to Providence in 2008.
The Owner of Mike Scotto Home Improvement, he retired in 1991. He had served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a former member of the United Commercial Travelers which raised money for charity. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing golf and most especially time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Constance, their two children, Michael Scotto and his wife Ann of Greenville and Jo-Ann Scotto of Rutherford, NJ. He also leaves a brother, James Scotto of North Smithfield, five grandchildren; Lee-Ann Adams and her husband Rob of Cranston, Lauren and Ellen Scotto of Greenville and Parker and Lawson Fisher of Rutherford, NJ and one great granddaughter, Penny May Adams. He will also be greatly missed by his dog Molly.
His funeral will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 9 AM from The Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Slatersville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
