WOONSOCKET- Albert J. Roy, 59, of Woonsocket, died Saturday, September 10, at Woonsocket Health Center.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Leo and Jeannette (Gagnon) Roy, he had been a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Roy was a mechanic for many years, working at Leo's Auto Parts, Arnold Hill Service Station, Millis Used Auto Parts, Countryside Auto Parts and Woonsocket Auto Salvage.
He is survived by one daughter, Beverly Roy-Alward of North Carolina; one son, Albert J. Roy, Jr. of Connecticut; three sisters, Alice Mercure of Millville, Mass., Jeanne Bernier of Blackstone, Mass., and Pauline Douthitt of Oregon; four brothers, Louis J. Roy of Mapleville, Paul Roy of North Smithfield, Robert Roy of Westboro, Mass., and David Roy of Woonsocket; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Kevin Roy, and the brother of the late Leo J. Roy and Marie Jackson.
His funeral and burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376, would be appreciated.
