Cecilia Y. Nichols

Cecilia Y. (Beaudry) Nichols, 97, of The Herbert Nursing Home, Smithfield and formerly of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent S. Nichols deceased in 2002. Born in Woonsocket on June 8, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Albina (Allard) Beaudry. She was the loving mother of Robert V. Nichols of Warwick, RI, Donald E. Nichols of Providence, RI, Gloria Menard of Cumberland, RI, Jo-Ann Nichols of Pawtucket, RI, Sharon Smith of Woonsocket, RI, Gail Curran of Peoria, AZ and the late Richard H. Nichols and the late Lorraine Gay. She leaves her cherished 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Roland and Raymond Beaudry, Blanche Fraiser, Rita Stemkowski and Constance Ducharme.

A resident of Woonsocket most of her life and had previously lived in Pawtucket after being married. Mrs. Nichols last worked for Saveco for until retiring and previously worked at several area textile mills in Greater Woonsocket. She also was a vendor at the Auburn, MA Flea Market. She was a former communicant of St. Charles Church. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at 9:00AM from CARTIER’S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Visiting hours are on Monday, September 26, from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
