Raymond L. Mercier

PALM BAY, FL- Raymond L. Mercier 61, formerly of Woonsocket, passed away Saturday August 20, 2011 at the Wuesthoff Progressive Health Care Center, Viera, FL.
He was born in Woonsocket, a son of Lucille (D'Anjou) Mercier and the late Lionel Mercier.
He served in the US Navy from 1967-1960 and was a past member of the Army National Guard and the Coast Guard Reserves.
Mr. Mercier was a detective on the Woonsocket Police Dept. for twenty years. He was an active member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Club (FL XII) for twenty five years, as well as the Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc. (FL 2D) for eight years.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Diane (Gelinas) Mercier, his daughter Dawn Mercier of Port Charlotte,FL, his brother Dennis Mercier and his wife Susan of Woonsocket, and their son Kyle Mercier of Nashua, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 8, at 11AM in St. Agatha's Church, Joffre Ave, Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
