WOONSOCKET Rene Henry Cote, 73, of Lydia Avenue, Woonsocket, died Thursday, October 6, 2011in Oakland Grove Healthcare Center. He was the husband of Ruth L. (L"Heureux) Cote whom he married in 1962.
Born in Bellingham, MA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Claire (Racine) Cote.
Rene attended Bellingham High School. He was a Service Technician for Xerox Corporation for many years and had also worked for Woonsocket Typewriter. Rene was also a trucker for various companies in Woonsocket. Rene was an U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Precious Blood Church, the Field of Dreams Softball League, Woonsocket Pitch League and St. Agatha's Senior Citizen. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Besides his wife Ruth, Rene leaves his daughter, Debra Bissonnette of Lincoln, a sister, Georgette Cote of Woonsocket, two grandsons, Andrew P. and Matthew R. Bissonnette and several nephews and nieces including two who were very special, Russell and James Cote. He was predeceased by his son, David A. Cote and a brother, Roger A. Cote.
His funeral will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 beginning with visitation at 10AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA.
