Gerald Chevalier ends long military career

Woonsocket's Gerald Chevalier spent more than 40 years in the Air Force and the R.I. Air National Guard before retiring recently.

WOONSOCKET -- Master Sergeant Gerald B. Chevalier recently completed a career of over 40 years of military service to his country in the United States Air Force and the R.I. Air National Guard with the 143rd Logistics Readiness Squadron at Quonset Air National Guard Base.
Chevalier served on numerous deployments, including: Coronet Oak, Provide Comfort, Northern and Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Joint Forge Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Chevalier has received numerous awards, including: Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Reserve Meritorious Service Medal with 10 oak leaf clusters.
Chevalier has been married to his wife Jackie for 39 years. Together, they have a daughter, Heather, son-in-law Franklin and three grandchildren: Christian, Rafael and Gabriello. He is a member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge 850, VFW 11519 and the St. Joseph’s Veterans Association.

I feel that it is important that writer and publishers continue to spotlight our military members when they retire or when other things happen in their lives like winning awards and such.
