BURRILLVILLE- Jeanne Lawrence 94, resident of Mapleville, passed away October 11, 2011 at Bayberry Commons in Pascoag. Loving wife of 63 years to Arthur Lawrence.
Born on March 29, 1917 in Mapleville RI, a daughter of the late August & Oringa (Vanasse) Marcoux.
She worked for the state lunch program and the former Stillwater Worsted. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching and cooking.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Joan Hopkins and her husband Allan, grandchildren, Norma Romano-Minisce and her husband Michael, Tom Romano and his wife Cathy, and Michael Romano and his wife Joyce, great grandchildren, Ashley, Joelle, Nicole, Allison, Kristen, and Lauren. Brothers, Mathias "Match", Laurier "Guy", and Albert Marcoux, sisters, Sr. Solange Marcoux, Camille Connell, and Jacqueline "Jackie" Auger. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late Marguerite "Margo" Robitaille, Cecile Rainey, Laure "Salty" Pepler and Bertrand Marcoux.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Brown Funeral Home 1496 Victory Hwy. Oakland RI with a Mass of Christian Burial 10am in Our Lady of Good Help Church in Mapleville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Pascoag. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 5pm until 8pm.
