CUMBERLAND- Thomas F. Pryor, 76, of England Street, passed away Sunday in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Maralyn (Duprey) Pryor.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie (McKee) Pryor. He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Mr. Pryor was the owner and operator of Pryor's Super Service Gas Station Garage (formerly McKee's Super Service) for over 15 years, and later was a Custodian for the Cumberland School Department for 13 years until his retirement in 1996.
Thomas was great talker and had a love of history, especially the history of Cumberland, and gave several lectures to students at Cumberland Middle School some years ago.
He leaves his beloved daughter, Elizabeth "Libbie" Pryor, and her husband Brian Arnold of Southboro, MA; two sisters, Mary McCaffrey of Wakefield and Barbara Fuller of Mason, MI; one step-grandson, Francis Arnold of Southboro, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Miriam Hospital, American Heart Association or the Epilepsy Foundation of Massachusetts.
