Eugene G. Laliberte

LINCOLN- Eugene G. Laliberte, 86, of Old River Road died Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar In-Patient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Thelma M. (Bombardier) Laliberte. Mr. and Mrs. Laliberte celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last month.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Joseph and Leona (Dyke) Laliberte, he had lived in Mapleville for 40 years before moving to Lincoln 2 years ago.
Mr. Laliberte was a deliveryman and warehouseman for Sandvik Manufacturing Company before retiring in 1990.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the DAV and the American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Marianne Holmes and her husband, Kenneth E. Knox of Seekonk, MA, Tammy A. Morris and her husband, Rodney of Pascoag and Joanne Audette and her husband, Roland of North Kingstown; four sons, Donald E. Laliberte and his wife, Jeanne of Shrewsbury, MA, Michael J. Laliberte of Pawtucket, Kenneth J. Laliberte and his wife, Patricia of Dayville, CT and Matthew J. Laliberte and his wife, Norah of Plainfield, CT; one sister, Barbara Bartolomei of Brewster, MA; two brothers, Wallace Laliberte of New Orleans, LA and Leslie Laliberte of NH; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gerard, Roland, Donald and Oray Laliberte, Joyce Mucciarone, Gloria Moreau and Doris Swann.
His funeral, with military honors, will be held FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28 at 11 A.M. at Rhode Island Veterans Columbarium Chapel, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.
