WOONSOCKET- Claire D. Parenteau, 77 of 547 Clinton Street, formerly of Diamond Hill Road Woonsocket, passed peacefully Wednesday October 26, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket to Oscar J. and Charlotte (Warren) Gignac, she was the beloved wife of the late Paul P. Parenteau who passed in May of 2011.
Claire worked for many years in the greater Woonsocket area.
She was employed at UniRoyal, was a Purchasing Agent for Reliance and Gerber, and then later spent nine years working for Ocean State Job Lot. A fun loving person, she enjoyed spending time socializing with her friends at the Italian Workingman's Club, traveling, painting on canvas, sewing, knitting for family and friends and making quilts and slippers to send to troops overseas.
She leaves behind a son, Edward Fleury and his wife Dorothy of Woonsocket, step-daughter Debra Boriskin of North Attleboro Ma., Godchild Claire Peloquin of Woonsocket, Grandchildren Rena, Jeremey and Vincent Fleury, six Great Grand Children, one Great, Great Grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of Constance Bourke and Lorraine Lavoie of Florida, Nancy Enright of Woonsocket and the late Patricia Dufresne and Oscar (Sonny) Gignac.
Her quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Services will be private.
