Charles S. Williams, Jr.

NO. SMITHFIELD- Charles S. "Tutty" Williams, Jr., 89, of Follett St., No. Smithfield, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center.
He was a wonderful, caring husband, father and grandfather and was adored by his family. He was the husband of Grace V. (Demaine) Williams.
Born in Smithfield, RI, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Hannah (Crossman) Williams, Sr..
He was a retired painter and carpenter/construction worker. He was a member of the Greenville Baptist Church for many years. He was the Overseer of the Aquidneck Grange No. 30 in Middletown, was the past Master of Primrose Grange and the former Cumberland Grange. He was also a member of Pomona and the RI State Grange and National Grange. He was a member and past master in 1980 of Temple Lodge No. 18 in Greenville for many years which he enjoyed. He was also a member of Betsey Williams Chapter OES and dad for the former Centerdale Assembly for Rainbow Girls.
Besides his wife of sixty-six years, he leaves behind one daughter, Betsey Williams Peckham and her husband John of Middletown, three grandchildren who adored him, Julia, Hollis and Orrin. He was the last of his late siblings, Edgar and Calvin Williams, Nellie Chapman, Hannah Joly, Debra Gaudet and Barbara Ottaviano.
His graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., No. Smithfield. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 - 7:00 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. www.holtfuneralhome.com
