William H. Cummings

CUMBERLAND - William H. Cummings, 50, passed away Friday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Lisa M. (Berard) Cummings.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of John A. and the late Rita (Perron) Cummings. He resided in Cumberland for the past 20 years, previously residing in Woonsocket.
He was a graduate of Woonsocket High School, Class of 1979, and attended Bryant University.
Mr. Cummings was employed by the Rhode Island Department of Labor for 18 years, retiring due to his illness.
He was an avid sports fan, and a member of the Italian Workingman's Club, Woonsocket.
Besides his father, he leaves three sons, John, Ryan, and Matthew Cummings all at home; one brother, Thomas Cummings of Surprise, AZ; two sisters, Mary Beth Openshaw and Christine Kolesar both of Scottsdale, AZ. He also leaves sisters and brothers in law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cummings Family Fund, C/O Sovereign Bank, 401 Social St., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
