Frederick Duncan "Fred" Balfour

BURRILVILLE- Frederick Duncan "Fred" Balfour, 87, of Pascoag formerly of Harrisville RI, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag.
He was born Saturday, February 2, 1924 in Fall River, MA, son of the late Duncan and Elvira (Hathaway) Balfour.
Fred had proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Force. After the service, Fred had made his living as a sheet metal worker for Electric Boat. When he wasn't working, Fred was an avid golfer for the Country View League, were he played for many years.
Fred is survived by his loving wife Mary (Wolstenholme) Balfour of 48 years; 2 sisters-Norma Balfour of Woonsocket, RI and Nina Perez of Cumberland, RI, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers- Robert and William Balfour and a sister Ruth Turcotte.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd. No. Smithfield with a funeral service at 10AM in the Berean Baptist Church in Harrisville. Burial in Union Cemetery in No. Smithfield will be held privately. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5PM until 7PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Berean Baptist Church PO Box 111 Harrisville RI 02830.
