Mount stops Burrillville for first win

Mount coaches Dave and Bill Belisle saw their team skate to a 5-1 win over Burrillville on Saturday night.

WOONSOCKET – Mount St. Charles evened its record at 1-1 on the season with a 5-1 victory over Burrillville on Saturday night.
Brian Belisle netted two goals for the Mounties and also assisted on two tallies. Brandon Borges, Callan Morriseau and Brian Campbell also scored for Mount, which led 5-0 before Burrillville’s Jake Duhamel netted a goal with 2:05 left in the game.
Jake Toback made an incredible 62 saves in goal for the Broncos. Bailey Lessard stopped 14 shots for Mount.

SRA routs Ponaganset
BURRILLVILLE – Mark Carrara and Ben Mello combined for five goals on Saturday night as the PCD/Wheeler/SRA Co-op squad overwhelmed Ponaganset, 12-1, at Levy Rink.
Carrara scored three goals and Mello added two for the winners, who dominated action throughout the contest.

GIRLS HOCKEY
BURRILLVILLE – La Salle Academy won its season opener, blanking a shorthanded Burrillville/Ponaganset Co-op squad by a 4-0 score at Levy Rink.
The home team was playing without an estimated 10 players for one reason or another.
Meaghan Rickard scored two goals for La Salle. Brittney Bebeau stopped 17 shots for the home squad.
