William F. St. John

BLACKSTONE - William F. St. John, 91, of Blackstone, MA, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. (Martinelli) St. John for 44 years.
Born in Franklin, MA on July 27, 1920,he was the son of the late Francis and Helen (Davis) St. John. He was the loving father of David W. St. John and Michelle M. Phaneuf and her husband Edward all of Blackstone, and his cherished grandchildren, Brady St. John and Laci Rose Phaneuf. He also leaves his brother Edward J. St. John of Blackstone.
A resident of Blackstone for 44 years formerly of Franklin where he was raised, and worked as an electroplater at Whiting & Davis in Plainville for many years until retiring in 1985.
He was a World War II United States Army Veteran receiving a Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and American Service Medal.
He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church and member of the League of Sacred Heart and St. Theresa Senior Citizens, and a member of the Millerville Mens Club. He enjoyed playing bingo, playing pool, golfing and bowling and received many trophies. Devoted to his family and his cherished grandchildren, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 7, at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow with military honors at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, December 6, from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.
