John L. Waszkiewicz

BELLINGHAM - John L. Waszkiewicz, 94, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2nd, at the Ballou Home in Woonsocket with his loving family at his side. He was the loving husband of Stacia (Holubesko) Waszkiewicz, they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Valentines day in 2012.
Born: March 9, 1917, in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Joseph & Gabrielle (Burzawa) Waszkiewicz, he resided in Bellingham almost all his life.
John was employed as a postal clerk for 32 years at the Woonsocket Post Office retiring in 1979. He was a WWII ARMY Veteran. He was a member of the D.A.V. in Attleboro, MA. American Legion Post in Boston, MA. He was a member & past President of the Federal Retired National Postal Union Association, also a 20 year member of the Woonsocket YMCA and the Polish Conversation Group of Bellingham.
He was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his wife he leaves a son Charles & his wife Jomarie Waszkiewicz of Coventry, RI, a daughter Carol Ann & her husband Richard Charbonneau of No. Smithfield, RI, 4 Grandchildren, 7 GreatGrandchildren & 1 Great Great Grandchild. He was the brother of the late Stella Marzetta & Stasia Consoletti.
His Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Harris Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Kubaskafuneralhome.com.
