BLACKSTONE - Pearl V. (Plante) Gauthier, 83, of Blackstone St., died Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Blackstone Nursing Home. Her husband of 63 years, Rene L. Gauthier, died July 7, 2011.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Romeo T. and Flore Ida (Gaulin) Plante.
Pearl was a molder and coordinator at the Tupperware Corporation for 24 years, until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed gardening and bowling and was an avid Patriots fan.
Pearl leaves two sons, David R. Gauthier and his wife Sandra of Uxbridge and Gary D. Gauthier and his wife Gail of Pawtucket; a daughter, Celeste J. Johnson and her husband Barry of Deltona, FL; two brothers, Raymond Plante of Tolland, CT and Gerald Plante of Blackstone; two sisters, Estelle Violette of Woonsocket and Jeannette Moretti of Bellingham; six grandchildren, Gary and Linda Gauthier, Andrea and Natalie Barbrie, Seth Johnson and Phillip Gauthier; a great granddaughter, Giselle Gauthier; many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane A. Gauthier, two brothers, Norman and Robert Plante and two sisters, Dorothy Pavoni and Aline Zielinski.
The funeral is Friday, December 9, 2011 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St Theresa's Church, Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Theresa's Cemetery, Nasonville. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
