BELLINGHAM- Darlene Ann Lang, age 63, of Bellingham, MA, died peacefully in her home on the morning of Friday, December 9th after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Darlene, one of seven girls, was born in Laconia, NH on October 14, 1948 to Ernest and Louise Daigneau. She attended Quimby High School in Sandwich, NH, and then graduated Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith, NH.
Darlene worked for many years as a waitress where her spunky and loving personality was evident to all those who knew and loved her. Along the way she developed many friendships, most important was that of her lifelong companion George "Chuck" Rhodes. Darlene and George frequently traveled to their home in Maine where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Darlene will be remembered as a hero to her family and friends and to the community at the Dana-Farber Cancer Research Institute for her commitment to clinical research. She underwent two years of experimental treatment in an effort to find a cure for cancer.
She is survived by her two daughters Kimberly Whitney and her husband Gary of Parsonsfield, ME, and Kerry Lang of Laconia, NH; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and five sisters Shirley Talbot and Joanne Martel of Moulton, NH, Dorothy Cavanaugh and Paula Paul of Sebring, FL, Carol Woodward of Nashua, NH and pre-deceased by Francis Daigneau of Moultonboro, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins all whom she greatly adored.
Arrangements are private under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA.
