The Mount St. Charles Academy hockey team, shown celebrating their state championship last year, had a reason to rejoice on Friday night when they posted a come-from-behind 9-4 victory over Moses Brown at Adelard Arena.

WOONSOCKET -- After scoring just eight goals in its first three games, Mount St. Charles broke out in a big way offensively on Friday night.
Brandon Borges and Ryan Berard each produced a pair of goals and as many assists for the Mounties, who scored the final seven goals of the game en route to a 9-4 win over Moses Brown in their Division I meeting at Adelard Arena.
The four-time defending champions (2-2) took a quick 2-0 lead 6:15 into play on goals by Borges and Brian Belisle, but the Quakers (0-1-1) responded with the next four to claim a 4-2 lead just four minutes into the second period.
But Callan Morisseau cut Mountâ€™s deficit in half by tapping in a pass by Berard with 10:50 to play in the second period, and after Berard scored off a pass from Tyler Scroggins two minutes later, Patrick Holmes gave the hosts the lead for good with 1:33 left in the period.
Scroggins and Brian Campbell netted third-period goals, and James Casilli, Belisle, and Scroggins each had a pair of assists. Tim Allen and Steve Donahue also set up Holmesâ€™ go-ahead goal.
The Mounties, who outshot the Quakers, 50-18, do no have another Division I game until Jan. 6 when they host Bishop Hendricken at Adelard. But next week, they will be in action in their annual eight-team Holiday Face-Off tournament, which begins on Tuesday and continues through Thursday.
Burrillville boys grab first victory, down North Kingstown
BURRILLVILLE -- Chad Stone and Brandon Gaucher each had a multiple-goal night to lead the attack for Burrillville on Friday as the Broncos nailed down their first win of the season, an 8-1 conquest of winless North Kingstown at Levy Arena.
Drew Buxton, Zack Bertholic, Zach Keach, and Jacob Hegarty also netted goals for the Broncos (now 1-3 in Division I play). Glen St. Pierre also set up three goals, and Andrew Etheridge and Evan Lafond each assisted on a pair.
The Broncos owned a 2-0 lead after a period of play before erupting for four goals in the middle period. They also outshot the Skippers (0-4) by a 31-18 margin.
Jacob Toback and Kyle Wilkinson split the goaltending duties, and Toback turned away 13 of the 14 shots he faced before giving way to Wilkinson.
The Broncos are back at Levy tonight with a tough 7 p.m. matchup against La Salle (4-0-1). The Rams battled the divisionâ€™s other unbeaten team, Bishop Hendricken (3-0-1) to a 2-2 tie on Friday night.
Cumberland nips Pilgrim in Div. II battle of unbeatens
WARWICK -- Cumberland kept its Division II-North record perfect at 4-0 by skating to a hard-fought 2-1 win over previously-unbeaten Pilgrim late Friday night at Thayer Arena.
Mike Kinch scored a goal and set up Nick Rainvilleâ€™s goal to fuel the Clippers, who have another tough test tonight when they duel the new-look St. Raphael/Providence Country Day/Wheeler co-op team (2-1) at 6:30 p.m. at Lynch Arena.
The Clippers also received a spectacular game from goalie Pat Noke, who kicked out 26 shots and made some big stops along the way to frustrate the Patriots (3-1).
Mount girls fall to Bay View, 2-1, in Emma Division showdown
WOONSOCKET â€” Sophomore goalie Sarah Erban turned in one of the finest performances of her young career on Friday night, but Kiley Colucci ruined in by scoring a pair of goals and helping Bay View Academy skate to a 2-1 victory over Mount St. Charles in their Emma Division showdown at Adelard Arena.
Erban turned away 24 shots for the Mounties (2-1), and Allison Shea scored the Mountiesâ€™ goal off a pass from twin sister Caitlin Shea just 23 seconds after Colucciâ€™s second goal early in the third period.
Bay View is 3-1.
The previous night, the Mounties grabbed a 5-0 victory over the Barrington/Mount Hope/Portsmouth co-op team behind multiple-goal performances from Elisabeth Berard and Briana Castro.
Castro also set up both of Berardâ€™s goals, and Lauren Levesque added a first-period goal. Berard and Castro also netted shorthanded goals to give the Mounties a 3-0 lead at the end of two periods.
The Mounties outshot their co-op foes, 35-8, and Erban (five saves) and Ari Tourtellot (three) teamed up for the shutout in net.
Burrillville/Ponaganset co-op girls pummel first-year Lincoln

BURRILLVILLE â€” Sam Roberts, Kelsey Koprusak, Jackie Keable, and freshman Emily Cardon each scored a pair of goals on Friday night to help the Burrillville/Ponaganset co-op team cruise to a 13-0 triumph over Lincoln at Levy Arena.
Keable also delivered a career-high four assists, and Trista Cardone and Maggie Reid each added a goal and two assists for the winners, who improved to 3-1.
Molly Solitro, Christina Bruno, and Teigan Palazini added the other goals, and goaltender Brittney Bebeau stopped only nine shots for the shutout.
The first-year Lions dropped to 1-2.
