WOONSOCKET- Edmund P. Sarnosky, of Fourth Ave., died Friday, December 16, 2011 in St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Rivard) Sarnosky whom he married June 28, 1952.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late John C. and Lena (Slatkavitz) Sarnosky.
Mr. Sarnosky was a Pharmacist for Rite-Aid Pharmacy, retiring in 2008 and was also the former owner of the former Pratts Drug Store, Woonsocket. A 1949 graduate of Woonsocket High School, Edmund received his B.S. in Pharmacy from URI in 1959 and was a member of the Naval Reserves. He was an active communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of its' choir. He played bocce ball locally and enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
Besides his wife, he is survived by their four children, Catherine Heath and her husband Steven of Woonsocket, Michael Sarnosky and his wife Suzanne of Deering, NH, Tina Sarnosky-Belba and her husband Michael of Coconut Creek, FL and Marylen Wieselquist and her husband Vincent of Woonsocket, two brothers, John F. Sarnosky of Framingham, MA and Joseph Sarnosky of Yarmouthport, MA, six grandchildren, Andrew and Alexander Heath, Elaine and Lauren Sarnosky and Haley and John Belba and a great granddaughter, Olivia Kendjerski.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8PM.
