BLACKSTONE- Walter C. Tyks, 86, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the Oakland Grove Health Ctr. In Woonsocket with his family by his side. He was the loving husband to Frances (Laczka) Tyks. Mr. & Mrs. Tyks celebrated their 63rd wedding aniversary on September 11th.
Born Dec. 25, 1924, in Blackstone, he was the son of the late Joseph & Katherine (Didto) Tyks. he resided in Blackstone all his life.
Walter was employed as a shipper for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for many years before retiring. He proudly served in the U.S. ARMY during WWII serving in the European African Theater. He loved to listen and dance to Polka music with his wife. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working & doing chores around his house.
Besides his wife he leaves a son Stanley W. Tyks of Hopedale, MA. 2 twin daughters Judy A. Tyks of Blackstone & Nancy A. Tyks of Westfield, MA. also a sister Gladys Tyks of Blackstone 3 Granchildren.
Relatives & Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Dec. 19th, at 10:00 AM in St. Paul's Church, St. Paul St. Blackstone, MA. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation hours are respectfully omitted.
