NORTH SMITHFIELD- Roger P. Lafontaine, 53, of Harkness Rd., passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Miriam Hospital, Providence.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Roger E. Lafontaine of North Smithfield and the late Lorraine (Gerlache) Lafontaine.
Roger was a motorcycle enthusiast, loved NASCAR and was a huge fan of the New England Patriots. He also recently received an honorary lifetime membership to the Sayles Hill Rod and Gun Club in North Smithfield.
Besides his father, he is survived by a twin brother, Ron Lafontaine and his wife Kristen, of North Smithfield, a sister, Linda Labossiere of Burrillville, a nephew, Jeffrey Labossiere and a niece, Nicole Labossiere.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11AM in St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul St., Blackstone, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
