POSTPONED: Cicilline's opening of the Woonsocket office, business tour and Neighborhood Supper

December 20, 2011

WOONSOCKET – Due to last-minute debate on the middle class tax cut and unemployment insurance extensions in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC, U.S. Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) is postponing the opening of the Woonsocket Congressional Satellite Office, the Small Business Tour and the Neighborhood Supper for First District constituents from the Woonsocket area that were originally scheduled for today, Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
The Congressional Satellite Office opening and Business Tour will be rescheduled for a later date. The Woonsocket the Neighborhood Supper will now be held on Thursday, January 12, 2011.
Congressman Cicilline is opening the Woonsocket Congressional Satellite Office to make it easier for people in northern Rhode Island to meet with the Congressman and his staff. At this satellite office, constituents will also be able to receive assistance from Congressman Cicilline’s staff with any problems they may have accessing federal government services such as Social Security, Medicare, or veterans’ benefits.
The Small Business Tour is designed for small business owners to directly communicate with Congressman Cicilline on the issues important to them, and for him provide insight into his work as a member of the U.S. House Small Business Committee. Congressman Cicilline will have information for small business owners on hand, and will be available to answer questions along the tour.
At the Neighborhood Supper, Congressman Cicilline and Woonsocket area residents will have the opportunity to discuss some of the work he has been doing in Washington, including fighting to extend federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation and the President’s payroll tax cut, as well as other critical issues that affect our local economy and citizens.
