WOONSOCKET- Eugene E. Forand, 76, of Greene St., died peacefully after a long illness with family by his side on Monday, December 19, 2011 in Roger Williams Hospital, Providence.
Born in Manville, he was the son of the late Emile N. and Leone (Reney) Forand.
He owned and operated Gene's Motor Sales, Uxbridge, MA for twenty-one years, before retiring in 1997 and had also served in the Army from 1958 to 1960. He loved working with his hands, painting, drawing and watching crime dramas.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Menard of Pascoag and Nancy Bacon and her husband, Paul of Woonsocket, a sister, Theresa Corbeille of Woonsocket, his former wife, Rose (Bousquet) Forand of Woonsocket, four grandchildren and one great grandson. He was the brother of the late Rene, Albert, Henry and Leo Forand, Alice Souchick and Blanch Berard.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 6 - 8PM, with a funeral service at 7:30PM, in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Center of Woonsocket, 2100 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
