Constance R. Lapierre
BURRILLVILLE- Constance R. Lapierre 90, resident of Nasonville, passed away December 19, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center.
She was the loving wife of the late Ernest A. Lapierre.
Born September 11, 1921 in North Smithfield, daughter of the late Theodore & Flora (Ferrier) Lagace.
Constance was a graduate from Hill College and worked for many years as an LPN for St. Antoine in addition to Woonsocket Hospital. She was a former resident of North Smithfield, a member of the American Legion Berard-Desjarlais Woman's Auxiliary Unit 88 in Nasonville and a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. Constance had also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Theresa's Church.
During World War II, Constance had worked as a nurse for the Woman's Army Auxilliary Corps (WAAC) at the Wakeman General and Convalescent Hospital at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
Connie enjoyed spending time with her family. She was always there to help neighbors, friends and family in their time of need, illness or injury.
She is survived by her children, Lorraine McCormick and her husband James of Harrisville, Gloria Polacek and her husband Richard of Harrisville, Sylvia St. Pierre and her husband Mark of Harrisville, Beverly St. Onge and her husband William of Nasonville, Roger Lapierre and his wife Lynda of Oakland, Gerald Lapierre and his wife Jill of Nasonville, Ronald Lapierre and his wife Caroline of Nasonville, and Donna Bussell and her husband Michael of Nasonville. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Lagace and sisters Harriet Lepage and Evelyn Turenne.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9AM from the Brown Funeral Home 1496 Victory Hwy. Oakland with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady of Good Help Church, Mapleville. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Slatersville. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4PM until 8PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, or to the St. Antoine Activity Fund.
