LINCOLN- Esther J. (Barry) Blake, 98, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in The Holiday Retirement Home in Lincoln. She was the wife of the late Vincent J. Blake who died in 1976.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late James and Clara (Liberty) Barry.
Mrs. Blake was a 1933 graduate of the former Woonsocket Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for the former Woonsocket Hospital for thirty years and served as an Operating Room Supervisor and Central Service. She was a member of the Woonsocket Hospital Quarter Century Club and the Woonsocket Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association.
She was the last of her immediate family and was the sibling of four brothers, William, Rene, Raymond and Roy Barry and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, RI will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 9 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA.
