WOONSOCKET- Roger W. Carriere, 79, of Popular St., died Wednesday December 21, 2011, in the Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Center, with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Gariepy) Carriere.
Born in ST. Ives, Canada, son of the late Henri and Aldea (Roy) Carriere.
Mr. Carriere, was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a welder for Jannell & Son, for 20 years prior to retiring.
He is survived by one son, James Carrier, of Woonsocket, Six daughters, Jacqueline and husband Roy Lamberto, of Sterling, Conn. Linda Gamache of Cumberland, Sandra and husband Danny Farmer, of Alabama, Suzanne and husband James of Cumberland, and Michelle Desjarlais of Woonsocket, and Lisa and husband Michael of Lincoln, R.I. Also two sisters who reside in Canada. 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He also was the father of the late Diane Cifizarri, and brother of the late Raymond Carriere.
His funeral will be held on Saturday Dec. 24, 2011 at 9 A.M. from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket With a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham. Ma. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 P.M.
