Mount girls take 7-0 win over Burrillville/Ponaganset

December 24, 2011

The Mount St. Charles line of Allison and Caitlin Shea and Lauren Levesque accounted for five goals in their team's 7-0 victory over the Burrillville/Ponaganset co-op team on Friday night at Adelard Arena.

WOONSOCKET -- The rematch was a mismatch.
Defending state champion Mount St. Charles, which saw its bid for a perfect regular season come up a game short when the Mounties lost their finale to the Burrillville/Ponaganset co-op team, got a bit of revenge for that defeat in Friday night’s showdown at Adelard Arena.
The Shea sisters, Allison and Caitlin, and Marissa Heroux each scored a pair of goals for Mount in a surprisingly-lopsided 7-0 triumph over the Broncos, a game the hosts dominated from start to finish.
The Mounties (3-1), who have outscored their competition by a 26-2 margin this season, netted four goals in the opening period and never looked back as they outshot the Broncos (3-2), 45-14.
MSC had a 4-0 lead after a period of play, and Lauren Levesque added a goal in the second period to help extend the lead to 6-0. Levesque, Alexis Fagan, and Jordan Duncan also had two assists in the game, and goalie Sarah Erban posted the shutout in net.
