WOONSOCKET- Mary E. (Garmon) Wilson, 77, of Sunnyside Ave. died, Wednesday December 21, 2011, in Landmark Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Wallace Wilson.
Born in Douglasville, Georgia, daughter of the late Ralph and Minnie (Henry) Garmon.
Mary worked as a Footpressor operator for Woonsocket Dress for 20 years and Fashion Sportswear.
She was a Pastors aide at St. James Baptist Church.
She was a wonderful mother, of eight children, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. A very strong and faithful woman always was a fighter, through the toughest of times.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her eight children, Sheila Turner, of Providence, R.I. Carol Wilson-Allen and husband Clemon Allen, of Woonsocket, Wallace and his wife April Wilson Jr., of Dorchester, MA., Victoria, Constance, and Rona Wilson, of Douglasville, Georgia, Kenneth and wife Andrea Wilson, of Lincoln, R.I. Gary and wife Diane Wilson, Newington, Conn. Two sisters Carrie Lou Clark of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Bessie Barlow of Atlanta, Georgia. 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sister in law of Eddie Spearman of Woonsocket, and Irma Garmen, of Providence, R.I. wife of the late Leroy Garmon. She also was the sister of the late Willie B. Spearman. Her
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2011 at 11 A.M. in St. James Baptist Church South Main St. Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. in St. James Baptist Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery Great Rd. North Smithfield, R.I. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, R.I. is in charge of the arrangements.
