BURRILLVILLE- Florence I. Chamberland 87, resident of Stillwater Heights in Harrisville and recently under the care of the staff at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield; died on December 24, 2011 at Miriam Hospital in Providence.
She was born on September 23, 1924 in Bellingham MA, a daughter to the late Albert & Aline (Robitaille) Chamberland.
Florence was a nurse's aide for the Zambarano Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 1993; previously she worked many years in area textiles. She lived most of her life in Burrillville.
She is survived by her sister, Vivian Marcoux of Revere MA, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Rene & Norman Chamberland and a sister Therese Gagnon.
Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 10am until 12pm in the Brown Funeral Home 1496 Victory Hwy. Oakland RI. Funeral services and burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. James Food Bank, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket RI 02895.
