NORTH SMITHFIELD- Jeannette M. (Taillon) Sjoblom, 88, of North Smithfield, died Saturday, December 24, 2011 in Oakland Grove Health Care Center, Woonsocket. Her husband of 64 years, Frederick Sjoblom, predeceased her.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Elphege and Rosena (Frenette) Taillon.
Mrs. Sjoblom was a lunch lady for the Woonsocket Public Schools Lunch Program for thirteen years, retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a very active volunteer in the Golden Hearts Club and the Trinity Club. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid BINGO player.
She is survived by her son, Kerry Sjoblom of North Hollywood, CA; two daughters, Joyce Renaud of Lincoln and Paula Cirillo of Moorpark, CA; two brothers, Ernest Taillon of Manville and Rene Taillon of Woonsocket, RI; a sister, Lorraine Landry of Woonsocket; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by five brothers Albert, George, Lionel, Normand and William Taillon and two sisters Leah Desplaines and Rita Smith.
Her funeral will be held Friday, December 30, 2011 with a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., No. Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Ages Senior Club, c/o Richard Plath, 525 Second Ave., Apt. 227A, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
