DILLON, SC- Robert O. Lussier, Sr., 76, of Dillon died on Friday, December 23, 2011 at his home.
Robert was born in Cumberland, RI. He was the son of the Oliver T. and Dorilda (Lavoie) Lussier.
Robert served his Country in the United States Air force and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed with Owens-Corning Fiberglass in RI and later became a self-employed logger until his retirement. In his early years, he loved running Fox Hounds, Coon Hounds, and Beagles and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a loving man who will be missed dearly by everyone.
Surviving are his children, Karen Whaley of Coventry, RI; Julie Martin of Lake Worth, FL; Robert O. Lussier, Jr. of Darlington, SC; and Marie Lussier of Winter Haven, FL; his brothers, Francis Lussier of Cumberland, RI; and Arthur Lussier of the Philippines; his sisters, Doris Scott of Pascoag, RI; and Anita Renaud of Cumberland, RI; and Barbara Cornell of North Smithfield, RI; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Small) Lussier; and by his sisters, Pauline Provoyeur and Antoinette Collins.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 5pm until 8pm. at Brown Funeral Home 1496 Victory Hwy. Oakland. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Brown Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
