CUMBERLAND- Clarinda A. (Chaput) Walsh, 105, of Mendon Rd. died Tuesday at home. She was the beloved wife for 65 years of the late Thomas F. Walsh Jr.
Born in Suncook, NH she was the daughter of the late Delvini and Marie L. (Veilleux) Chaput. She had resided in Cumberland since 1942 previously living in West Warwick.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and a founding member of the St. Patrick Mothers Club. She was also a charter member of the former St. Thomas Knights of Columbus, Women's Guild, Cumberland.
She leaves two daughters, Lois M. Schillinger and her husband Thomas and Lucille D. Walsh, all of Cumberland; one son, Richard T. Walsh of Cumberland; three grandchildren, David M. Schillinger, Jill L. Murphy, and Thomas R. Schillinger; six great-grandchildren, David, Ryan, Evan, Lauren, Chaise, and Zachary, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Delvini Chaput, Laudina Connors, Bertha Peltier, Delvina Fournier, Dora Obuchon, Alfred Chaput, Ambroise Chaput, and Joseph Chaput.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 10 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday, 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd, East Providence, RI 02914.
