BELLINGHAM - Jessie J.E. Joseph, 88, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2011 at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield, RI with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 55 years of Lucia B. (Pierannunzi) Joseph.
Born in Angouleme, France on November 20, 1923, he was the son of the late James and Lucie (Veyret) Joseph. He was the loving father of Joyce A. J. Nichols of Providence, RI, Philip J. Joseph and John C. Joseph both of Merrimack, NH, Joan L. Joseph of Bellingham, MA, Susan M. Joseph of Worcester, MA; and grandfather of ten cherished grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, M. Christian Joseph of Blackstone, MA.
A resident of Bellingham most of his life, Jessie worked 28 years at Quonset Point Naval Air Station as an A & E Mechanic and as an engineer at the Foxboro Company for 7 years. He was a flight instructor, aircraft mechanic, member of the A.O.P.A. since 1946, and a licensed A&E Inspector at North Central Airport, Norfolk, Hopedale, Berkley, Woonsocket and other greater area airports. Jessie was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran, Aviation Cadet, 3701st AAF Base Unit and received the Good Conduct Medal and the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 31st with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 South Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. The family will be greeting relatives and friends from 9:00 to 9:30 AM at St. Blaise Church prior to Mass. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Hartford Ave., Bellingham. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to SCU, St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Avenue, North Smithfield, RI 02896.
