HOCKEY ROUNDUP: Hendricken skates past Mount

Senior co-captain Ben Handanyan and his Mount St. Charles teammates suffered a 6-3 loss to rival Bishop Hendricken on Friday night at Adelard Arena.

WOONSOCKET --- Bishop Hendricken scored three times in the first 4:41 of the third period to snap a 3-3 tie and net a 6-3 win over Mount St. Charles on Friday night in their marquee Division I matchup at Adelard Arena.
The Mounties, who fell to 2-3 in the division, but were coming off a 4-0 mark in their winter non-league slate, erased a 2-0 deficit in the opening period by receiving goals from Brandon Borges, Steve Donahue, and Tyler Scroggins in the first 6½ minutes of the second period.
But the Hawks (6-0-1) tied the score with a power-play goal by Matt Creaner with 1:41 left in the period, and untied it with their third-period scoring blitz.
Creamer broke the tie with a goal 1:24 into the final period and ended the night with a hat trick.
There were plenty of shots in this contest, with the Mounties taking 53 on the Hawks and the winners answering back with 52. Hawks goaltender William Palmer stopped 50 shots in a brilliant effort.

Cumberland tops Ponaganset, improves to 7-0
BURRILLVILLE --- Undefeated faced winless on Friday night and the result was obvious as Cumberland rolled to a 5-1 triumph over Ponaganset in their Division II-North affair at Levy Arena.
Mike Kinch scored a pair of goals and Andrew Dulac had a goal and an assist for the Clippers, who rolled to a 3-0 lead after two periods and improved their record to 7-0.
Matt Rzemien and Andrew Pluta added the other goals, Ryan Huber set up a pair of goals, and goaltender Pat Noke ended up with 19 saves.

Etheridge, Burrillville pummel Cranston West
BURRILLVILLE --- Burrillville High took a season-high 47 shots and got a pair of goals from Andrew Etheridge in its 6-1 victory over Cranston West on Friday night at Levy Arena.
The Broncos, who evened their Division I record at 4-4, also got goals from Zach Keach, Evan Lafond, Chad Stone, and Zach Bertholic. Mitchell Lafond and Drew Buxton also had two assists each.

Pilgrim strikes late to down North Smithfield
WARWICK --- Two goals in the final 4:48 of the game helped Pilgrim break a 3-3 tie and skate to a 5-3 win over North Smithfield on Friday night in their Division II-North game at Thayer Arena.
Nick McGuirl had a say in all of the Patriots’ scoring with a score and four assists. Pilgrim is now 5-1.
The Northmen, who are 0-5, received two goals from Matt Prudhome, a goal and an assist from Maxx Forti, and 31 saves from goalie Erik Pelletier.

Barrington goalie shines in win over Lincoln
WOONSOCKET --- Barrington goalie Chris Calitri had a game for the ages on Friday night, as he stopped 48 shots in his team’s 6-0 win over Lincoln on Friday night at Adelard Arena.
The Eagles, who scored the only goal they needed just 11 seconds into play, had a 3-0 lead after a period of play and took 50 shots in the game.
The Lions and Eagles are both 2-3 in Division I action.
