NORTH PROVIDENCE- Rhea R. (Remillard) Bouchard, 92, of Nelson St., North Providence, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in The Holiday Retirement Home, Lincoln, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Honore W. Bouchard who predeceased her on January 1, 1993.
Born in Waterford, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Nolin) Remillard.
Mrs. Bouchard loved her home and took great pride in her homemaking skills. She had been active in the Adult Council of the Saint James CYO during the late 1950's and early 1960's. Some of her most treasured memories were of her days as both a Girl Scout and Brownie leader in Manville where she had resided twenty years prior to moving to North Providence.
She is survived by four daughters, Rhea Powers of Cumberland, Joan Powers of Blackstone, MA, Beverly Denis and her husband Marcel and Gail Robichaud, all of Woonsocket, four brothers, Edgar Remillard of Burke, NY, Arthur and Ernest Remillard, both of Cohoes, NY and William Remillard of Rotterdam Junction, NY, two sisters, Ida Shagalski of Cohoes, NY and Joan Simonds of Pattersonville, NY, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Leo Remillard, Alice Demers, Edna Patenaude and Beatrice Comire-Motte.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 20, 2012 from 10AM - Noon, in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Because He Lives Ministries (local soup kitchen), PO Box 37, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
