OXNARD, CA - Lionel P.E. Robert, 84, of Oxnard, California, passed away on December 31, 2011 with his family at his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Monique (Rouleau) Robert.
Lionel was born in Woonsocket on November 4, 1927 to the late Fernando and Aurore (Desserres) Robert.
He leaves 5 children; Major Dennis Robert, stationed in Germany, Charles of Washington, Carol, Michael, and Nancy Brown of Oxnard, California and 6 grandchildren. A sister, Theresa Hemond of North Smithfield and a brother Bernard Robert of Uxbridge.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Marcel and Andre Robert and 2 sisters, Fernande Robert and Lucille Forcier.
He was a World War II and Vietnam veteran. He volunteered at the Navy base.
His funeral was under Reardon Funeral Home, Oxnard. Mass was at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. A military burial was held at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
