GLOCESTER- Gerard J. Charron, 82, passed away on January 21,2012, at the Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag. He was the husband of Deborah (Fleming) Charron.
Gerard was born in Woonsocket, son of the late Herve and Alma (Martel) Charron.
Gerard was educated in the Woonsocket School District and was a resident of Woonsocket until moving to Glocester in 1969.
He was the owner of New England Home Improvement Company for 35 years. Gerard had owned and operated the Glocester Motor Inn for 33 years, in addition to owning the Sunset Cove Mobile Home Park. Among his many accomplishments in life, Gerard was a talented, self taught pianist.
In addition to his wife, Gerard is also survived by two daughters- Deborah Gibson of Burrillville and Janice, Mrs. Peter Lowell, of Glocester; eight grandchildren- Michelle Courtois, Nickole Daniels, Christina Stanlewicz, Christopher Lowell, Andrew Lowell, Kayla Gibson, Catherine Charron and Alicia Gibson; two step grandchildren- Joseph Sullivan and Amber Gibson; eight great grandchildren and a brother Roger Charron of Burrillville.
Gerard was the father of the late Gerard J. Charron, Jr. and brother of the late Roland and Romeo Charron and Constance Lemay.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church 251 Danielson Pike, No. Scituate, RI on Saturday, January 28 at 1PM. Interment of the cremated remains will be at Riverside Cemetery in Pawtucket, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerard's name to the Woonsocket Milk Fund, c/o Barry Mechanic, Woonsocket Call, 75 Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895, or to a local food pantry of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, Oakland, RI.
