CUMBERLAND- Louise M. Toupin, 90, passed away January 25, 2012 at Trinity Health & Rehabilitation, Woonsocket, RI under Odyssey Hospice Care.
Born August 20, 1921 in Woonsocket, RI, a widow of Ernest H. Toupin, she had been a Cumberland resident for over 60 years.
She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Corana Monteiro and a sister of William W. Monteiro of Bellingham, MA and the late Anna Garcia.
She is also survived by her faithful care giver Normand L. Harnois, her daughter Maureen Ann Harnois, and her only grandchild William C. Harnois all of Cumberland; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many God children, and many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Woonsocket High School, she attended Hill College of Woonsocket. She had been employed with Woonsocket Hospital for many years.
She enjoyed reading, club work, gardening and her cat.
She had been a member and past president of Y Wives Club of YMCA, served on the Board of Directors of YMCA of Northern RI, member of the Potpouri Club, Apres Midi Club, all of the YMCA. She was a past President of the Sherman Leclerc Library Association. Mrs. Toupin was an Officer of Friends of the Cumberland Library, Member of the St. Joseph Senior Club, St. John Vianney Senior Club, and St. Joan of Arc Ladies Guild
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3120 Mendon Road, Cumberland with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Jean de Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation Sunday 4-8 pm in the funeral home.
