Mount girls edge arch-rival Bay View

WOONSOCKET --- Caitlin Shea’s unassisted goal with 3:19 to play in the second period snapped a 2-2 tie, and Mount St. Charles was able to hold on the rest of the way and grab a 3-2 win over rival Bay View on Friday night at Adelard Arena.
The victory was the eighth in a row for the Mounties, who are 10-1 and had suffered their loss back on Dec. 16 to the Bengals, 2-1.
All the scoring took place in the second period. The Mounties scored the first two goals on scores by Allison Shea at 4:29 and Elisabeth Berard at 6:42, but less than two minutes later, the Bengals (4-4-1) managed to knot the score.
Sophomore goalie Sarah Erban was stellar with 32 saves for the Mounties, who will duel La Salle (also 10-1) in a battle for first place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Adelard Arena.
