Woonsocket girls hoop team to participate in National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Per the Woonsocket High School athletic department:

WHAT: The Woonsocket Lady Novan Basketball Team will honor female athletes of all ages on National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The event is one of more than 1,000 events taking place in honor of the 26th National Girls and Women in Sports Day, celebrated on February 1, 2012.

WHO: The 2012 Woonsocket Girls’ Basketball Program, will honor past local female high school and college athletes in celebration of the 40th birthday of Title IX.

WHY: To recognize the achievements of girls and women in sports and to encourage all females of Woonsocket to participate in sports and fitness activities.

WHEN: 7 P.M., February 7th, 2012

WHERE: Woonsocket High School Gymnasium, 777 Cass Avenue.
