WOONSOCKET Ernest T. "Pinky" Stefanick, 83, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 30, 2012 at the St. Antoine Residence in No. Smithfield, RI.
Born on April 12, 1928, he was the loving husband of Phyllis J. (Nordberg) Stefanick, and son of the late John & Mary (Skalak) Stefanik.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was employed by the Mark Stevens/CVS, Corporation for 39 years. He enjoyed coaching, playing and watching sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, David T. Stefanik and his wife Paige of Woonsocket, John R. Stefanik and his wife Karen of Blackstone, MA. and a daughter Barbara L. Blackburn and her husband Don of Woonsocket. He was the father of the late Robert G. Stefanik, and brother of the late Edward, Joseph. Stanley, Walter, Louise, Rose (Jacobs), Stacia (Jacobs), Amelia (Merlet), Sophie (Merlet), Julia (Fied), Josephine (O'Hara) and Monica (Lambert). He was the loving grandfather to Cody, Cameron, Kristin, and Brennan Stefanik.
His Funeral and Burial will be private.
Donations in his memory can be made to the St. Antoine Special Care Unit, 10 Rhodes Ave. No. Smithfield, RI, 02896.
The Stefanik family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers who cared for him at the St. Antoine Special Care Unit. you truly made his transition to eternal life much easier.
